EAA Chapter 551 Host Successful Young Eagles Rally

EAA Chapter 551 held a successful Young Eagles Rally Saturday, May 17, 2014.  The weather was perfect and our 11 volunteer pilots and numerous volunteer ground crew did a great job helping inspire and educate 45 young eagles about the joys of recreational aviation.  Smiles were plentiful and I noted one Young Eagle jumping up and down happily and repeating “I can fly, I can fly” after her flight. Wade Nelson, EAA 551 President and Young Eagles Co-coordinator wrote: “THANK YOU to all of our volunteers and other supporters who helped both during the rally and behind the scenes before and after the event to make this event happen.  I would also like to recognize the great support we received from folks at the St. Cloud Regional airport, notably Wright Aero, St. Cloud Aviation, and our outstanding air traffic controllers.  If you haven’t flown to KSTC recently I invite you to do so and experience some of the most GA-friendly controllers I have ever had the pleasure to interact with.”
