2025 MNPilots Hangar Flying

Happy New Year, Minnesota Aviators!  On behalf of the Minnesota Pilots Association, we wish you safe travels, great aviation adventures and a healthy 2025!  We are looking forward to many good things happening this year in aviation, and we hope that together with you we can make it easier to cross paths with each other!

The Minnesota Pilots Association will, of course, hold the Great Minnesota Aviation Gathering (GMAG) on Friday and Saturday, May 16-17, at the Buffalo Municipal Airport (KCFE).  This terrific airport community has become home to the GMAG, and we hope to make this one the best ever!  If you have any suggestions or wish list items for the GMAG, please email us at [email protected]!  This is your event, after all, and we value your input!

Our sister organization, the Minnesota Seaplane Pilots Association, will be holding their annual Seaplane Safety Seminars at the beautiful Madden’s Resort on September 19-20.  The Safety Seminar has been one of the major aviation meetings in Minnesota for many, many years and we look forward to attending this beautiful resort when Fall Colors are prime!

The Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame will hold their annual banquet on April 12, at the Mystic Lake Casino Event Center.  We have attended this event at this beautiful venue and have been totally impressed with this event, which honors those who have contributed greatly to aviation, not only in Minnesota, but also on the national and world stage!  Please check out the MAHOF website at www.mahof.org for the list of inductees who will be enshrined in this wonderful Hall.  You will recognize many of these people, and you can peruse the Hall and read the bios of those who have already been enshrined!  Curt Brown, Elizabeth Strohfus, Noel Allard…to mention a few.  Put this on your calendar!

Did you know that there are many aviation scholarships available for people who are working toward becoming professional pilots or aviation technicians?  Well, you can find them on our website at www.mnpilots.org, and on the Minnesota Aviation Hall of Fame’s website at www.mahof.org.  Deadlines are rapidly approaching, and we hope you will apply for these prestigious awards at more than one organization!  Yes, it is possible to be awarded more than one scholarship.  Not only are these helpful, financially, but being a recipient looks great on your resume!

We have worked with Evolve Creative to make our website events calendar the place to go to find other terrific events that will be of interest to Minnesota aviators.  Do you have an aviation event you would like to have on our calendar?  We have worked to make it easier for those who are organizing events to directly submit details about your Fly In events so that we can have a great place to find out where you can go for a delicious pancake breakfast!

Let’s work together to make this a wonderful year for aviation!  If you are not a member of the Minnesota Pilots Association please visit www.mnpilots.org and join us!  Happy flying!
